And she's back!

Whoa! Look who is back!

In the last 2 months I have been gone for about 5 of those weeks... 4 different countries,
4 different states, been in a wedding, had Thanksgiving with my family, had siblings come see me here!, been on 8 different planes, driven 5 different cars, .... yeah, are you tired yet?

But can I just tell you how GOOD MY FATHER IS!!!!

This post is dedicated to those who still look at this and think... when will she ever update! Thank you for still checking in, loving me, and lifting me up!

More to come later.

Weekend with G

There goes having a picture a day! I am too lazy to do it! I will try harder.

Today at three different times I said... I wish I had my camera! I had left it at home!!!

Here are some pictures from a weekend with G (my neighbor downstairs) visiting her family's summer home! She is wonderful and I am very thankful for her! She is going to live in the big Boston for 3 months next months. Please keep her in your thoughts! I will miss her very much! But this will be such a good experience for her!!!

Pic of the Day

I have now set this to my home page to that everytime I open the internet browser it will be a constant reminder to update! haha

Thursday I rode my first 'amusement ride' here.

And today I had a cute little girl (my boss' baby). She can take the shades out of her sunglasses really easy. She liked them better out on the drive home.

Now for July

So much has happened. But I'm just going to give you some pictures right now.

You can check out this post for how I doing currently below:

But here are just some pictures!

Birthday Party and Henna Party -plus some

These are totally not related but I attended both in the same week. It is amazing how different my life and the people I am around can be within a few days even in the same city!!!

If you aren't slide showed out after this, you are a trooper!

First, birthday party.

Second, Henna Party.

Plus some.

I also went on vacation in June

I headed out of the country for the first time since I arrived here 8 months ago. It was a great trip to the country of Slovenia to visit my friend Katy. Yes, Katy and Catie together again! watch out people! I was mostly in a little town called Bovec- only 15oo people (plus tourists) which was a huge change to the 15 million people I live around! Enjoy the pics!

oh and if you want to know a little more about Slovenia, check out this website:

Cultural Program 2009 (finally!)

You have seen that I have had a lot of people come through... but...

I never told you how the cultural program with 30 students from the states finished up! They all learned a ton about the culture here, the people, the wonderful hospitality, and the greatness of this city. They made some great friends and had lots of opportunities to learn from them and share their life with them. It was great! Here are some pictures...

Hellos and Goodbyes

So most recently, there have been a lot of hellos and goodbyes. And my heart is a little weary from them. Please don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I love having people come here for cultural programs. I love having friends come to see me!!! But it has been harder than I thought. I am always sad to let them leave and go back home!

I have realized a few things about myself: I always need my Savior and for him to be first. I need my family. I need my friends. I need people. I am not as independent as I once thought I was. I has a friend who has been traveling all over China. And I thought, "That would be so fun to just go and travel all over the place for a year, meeting people, new things, new experiences." But then I thought, "I kinda am doing that except just in one place!" But I thought further and realized that I would only want to do what she was doing it if I shared that experience with someone or with a group of people. I don't like just hoping from one person to the next. I would want to keep every single person I meet close to me, but it is impossible. I would feel guilty about my short time with them. I like to make deep lasting friendships with people. It has been good to be here and see that I can't be friends with 15 million people. However, I can have my few that I love dearly and invest in- back home (or somewhere in the states to all yall other non-louisiananians!)

And thanks to my family! I love them so much. They have been a constant to me during this really busy time at work. I am so thankful for the many messages they leave me on skype even though they know I will not get it till later. The time difference is wearing on me a little bit, but I am so thankful to have friends back home who are willing to work with me.

So all that to say is that my heart is having to depend on someone greater(like always) to give me refreshing of my soul. I have one more friend coming through this next week and I am so excited. I have only received great encouragement from them!!!! Thank you so much friends. So August is my "Sorry but I will be gone from the big city a lot" month. And I am so excited.

Some things coming up:
1. Meleah coming.
2. Us going to English camp out at my friends Island with their neighbors. However, there will be lots of foreign language that I will be using. HUGE request.
3.  Watching some of my worker friends kids for a few days and recooperating.
4. Going home with our neighbors downstairs. LOTS of language use too. I love their families though so it will be great!
5. Go out east with another friend here and meeting her in one city then traveling to her home town. Lots of new experiences!
6. coming home just in time for 2 groups in September!!!

A shout out to my most recent goodbye. Love you Kari!
She is probably the one who came a got the most time with my local friends here. It seems like almost every day we were with someone or two or a family. She was very patient when we didn't speak English all the time. And everyone here loved her. She was a huge blessing to me and such a great listener. Thanks so much Kari!

the big island

The "big island" is one of 4 islands and obviously - the biggest. It is a popular place to visit, picnic, walk around, and just hang out for the day.

I flew a kite! for only a little bit

Almost the whole group!

The view from our picnic area
Over the edge.

Cherries are in season!

One of the things I really love about my city is that there is a weekly bazaar, and I get a bunch of fruit for a good price. Right now the cherries are in season and they are so good!

Sometimes there are some weird ones in the batch. But they are still good.

My Sister Graduated!

I am so proud of my little sis! She finished strong and is now the 4th Alumni in our family! (My uncle and dad, now me and her!)

Yep she was in that massive group!

she is the one to the far right! sorry em! but i don't have any.

Emma and I chatting and taking pictures together!

Slumber Party with Ms. Catie

Slumber Party with Ms. Julie and Ms. Catie.

I don't know if I have really communicated this yet, but now is the perfect time. I love my supervisor and his family. They are wonderful to me. I am included in their family.
So what is better way to show them how much I love them by having a huge slumber party!
We had pizza, made some pictures, and watched a movie.  They are great!

Some Great Friends Eating American Style
